GNH Emissary Program
WHAT IS
GROSS NATIONAL HAPPINESS?
The fourth King of Bhutan made history in 1979 when he declared that "while other nations are concerned with raising their gross national products, our concern in Bhutan is about raising the Gross National Happiness”. Gross National Happiness - or GNH for short - represents a focus on human, environmental, and animal wellbeing over economic gain.
WHO ARE GNH EMISSARIES?
GNH Emissaries are individuals who are passionate about working to create a happier world. Using Bhutan's GNH structures and programs as a foundation, we aim to connect and empower emissaries to learn, grow, and share GNH with their communities. Emissaries organize and partake in activities including seminars, public talks, trips to Bhutan, etc, centered around learning and sharing the principles of GNH.
If you are interested in becoming a GNH emissary, fill out an application on our site, or feel free to reach out to info@gnhemissary.com if you have any questions.
And be sure to check out the video below of our founding group of emissaries' first trip to Bhutan!
